A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §4-1-20a, relating to prohibiting smoking in the capitol building and all offices.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §4-1-20a, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 1. OFFICERS, MEMBERS AND EMPLOYEES; APPROPRIATIONS;
INVESTIGATIONS; DISPLAY OF FLAGS; RECORDS; USE OF
CAPITOL BUILDING; PREFILING OF BILLS AND
RESOLUTIONS; STANDING COMMITTEES; INTERIM MEETINGS;
NEXT MEETING OF THE SENATE.
§4-1-20a. Smoking prohibited in capitol building; including legislative offices.
Smoking is prohibited throughout the entirety of the State Capitol. This includes, but is not limited to, hallways and offices, including those offices of members of the West Virginia Legislature.




NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit smoking throughout the capitol building.

This section is new; therefore, it has been completely underscored.
